Curriculum Coverage
In Maths, we will be focusing on multiplication and division. We will look at factor pairs, multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100, as well as multiplying 2 and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. We will be working on multiplication problems, as well as division, with and without remainders.
In English, our focused story is Escape from Pompeii by Christina Balit. We will be continuing to develop grammar skills, such as coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, as well as focusing on correct use of punctuation, such as inverted commas for direct speech.
In Science, we will be looking at animals, including humans. We will be looking at skeletons, and some of the key bones and muscles that help us to move and function. We will also be looking at what nutrients humans and animals need to grow and survive, and how animals adapt to their habitat.
In History, we will be looking at Ancient Egypt. We will be looking at how Ancient Egyptians lived, and how the River Nile was key to the Ancient Egyptian Empire growing. We will be looking at the Great Pyramids of Giza, and the significance they played in the afterlife. We will be identifying different gods and goddesses, as well as famous Pharaohs like Tutankhamun and Cleopatra.
