Spring 2
Curriculum Coverage
In Maths, we will be focusing on fractions. We will look at mixed numbers and improper fractions, and how you can convert one to the other. We will also be looking at equivalent fractions and how we can simplify fractions.
In English, our focused story is Where the Forest meets the Sea by Jeannie Baker. As our end of Unit writing will be creating an informational poster, we will be looking at how to lay out information to certain audiences, as well as key features required when providing information.
In Science, we will be looking at Rocks. We will investigate the appearance and features of rocks as well as the different scientific groupings. We will also look at what rocks can be used for in everyday life and which rocks are best suited for specific industries or products.
In Geography, we will be looking at Tremors, Tsunamis and Tectonic plates. We will be identifying where these natural disasters take place around the world, and how tectonic plates and fault lines are key to understanding why these occur. We will also look at past examples of when tsunamis and tremors have hit areas of the world and the impact they have had.
