Emotional Support and Wellbeing
At St Paul's we recognise that there will be families facing challenges that might result in children finding it harder to engage with learning. We aim to offer these children increased emotional and wellbeing support. This will be provided by the school's Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA). Our ELSA programme is overseen by Leicestershire Local Authority Education Psychologists, who provide training and on-going supervision.
Our ELSA is Mrs Green
Mrs Green works with individuals and small groups to support children who may be experiencing:
- difficulty regulating their emotions
- low mood or self-esteem
- friendship issues
- loss and bereavement
- anxiety
Many of these difficulties will be identified by class teachers but if parents would like their child to be considered for this support, they should contact the school office or the Headteacher. All information will be treated as confidential.
